Two Strategies to Relieve Your Stress and Boost Your Productivity

I’m glad you came here and that you are willing to experiment with new strategies to help you get more out of your days and life. One of the most stressful things we all experience, no matter where we are in life, is running out of time, seeing time passing by, and not achieving what we want. Missing deadlines for example, or being late at meetings, events, or projects.


It’s been my case many times and it still is from time to time. Sometimes it’s like “Oh Well, I’ve got too many things to do, I don’t know where to start…” and you get paralysed and procrastinate.


So to relieve your stress and boost your productivity and achievements, I just want to share with you Two Processes that I found very useful for me.


The First One: The One Minute Focus

I called it The One Minute Focus. This system is based on some insights I got from a Highly Successful Business Entrepreneur called Brendon Burchard, Founder of the Expert Academy and High Achiever Academy.


Here are the nuts and bolts.


1. My Life’s Big projects– list 3 BIG projects you want to achieve in your life. This is your long-term vision.

2. The people I need must contact TODAY.

  • Who do you need to contact to make things move forward?
  • Who are you waiting on to move forward?


3. The 5 Highest Priorities I must do TODAY! Those you must accomplish today no matter what. 5 no more!

You can then just print it out and fill it out every day. I guarantee that we dramatically increase your daily productivity and keep you on track for the day (of course if you apply this system!)


The Second One: The One Minute On Target On Track

It’s a system I learned recently. It’s a different way of looking at how we manage time and it helps us avoid procrastination/overwhelm. The question is why do we tend to procrastinate?


Well, because we don’t know what to do, where to start?


When the task we have to do seems too big to be tackled, and therefore we just say….

“No thanks, not now, maybe later…”


We have no real idea of what to do when to do it, and in which sequence.


We are afraid to start… because we are uncertain…


So, the key insight is to put things in time and space (in a sequence)!


Because what we most hate is uncertainty!


Another Principle is Pareto’s Law which says that “work expands so as to fill up the time available for its completion


If you have no idea how long it’s going to take to complete this task or project, well, I tell you: It’s going to take forever!


The solution (or at least one of them, I’m sure there are others as valuable as this one) is what I called The One Minute On Target On Track.


I got the idea from a Successful Business Coach, Benjamin Harvey from Authentic Education, and just tweaked it a bit.


Here is how it works.


Everything you need to do becomes a project and you attach a deadline to it.

  • You have a beginning and an end date.
  • You also imagine, how it’s going to feel when you’ve completed the project. You want to get the end in mind, the vision of the completion of the project, and feel it!
  • Then you use a timeline to put steps in place (usually 5 steps are a good way of breaking down a project, whether it’s a big one or a small one) with dates and list the actions you need to do for each step. THIS IS THE ON TARGET
  • The next part is to measure your progress by listing each action step you’ve done and putting the date you accomplish it. THIS IS THE ON TRACK


Finally, make sure you reward yourself at the completion of the project. And tick the box of completion, because it feels really good when you see that you’ve just accomplished that project/task. It gives you a good feeling and more motivation for the next one.
