Nature And The Hero's Journey
Following on from a conversation that Marcia and I had this morning, I’d like to share a key insight that gave us goosebumps as it came to us.
It's about the impact of the recent flooding events in South East QLD and NSW in Australia (FEB-MAR 2022)...
At first, it's hard to comprehend the amount of destruction generated in the past couple of weeks - so many properties impacted, physical goods destroyed, and lives and livelihoods shaken.
The sheer magnitude of this event prompted us to ask, given our understanding of the Natural Laws, and especially the Law of Conservation which states that "nothing is created nor destroyed, it only changes form", where are the creation and the building that counterbalance the destruction that is clearly seen...
Where is the creation?
While a lot of the destruction relates to many physical and material goods (matter), the creation and building have been happening in the connection and solidarity of locals, and the human spirit (spirit).
Nature constantly destroys and builds, in different forms.
That’s the inevitable cycle of Life.
In a way, Nature makes sure (infallibly) we go through Joseph Campbel’s Hero's Journey because that is the path of human evolution.
From the ashes rises the phoenix again and again in eternal cycles of death and rebirth.
However, the new form of creation - the building of the human spirit and solidarity - is what’s needed for us, as a whole, to reach the next level of awareness and influence and tackle the future challenges that Life will inevitably put on our path to grow and evolve.
In Nutshell
Throughout our lives, we will face building and destroying. When the destruction is what is most visible and obvious, it is important to take some time to look for the hidden creation and appreciate it in its own form, because no matter what happens, the law of conservation is always at play to support humanity's growth and ascension.
